Craig Martin Joins Chippa United

Orlando Pirates winger, Craig Martin, has been unveiled as Chippa United’s newest player.

On Tuesday, 27 June, Chippa shared photos of the 29-year-old wearing his new gear on Twitter.

“Welcome Craig Martin to Gqeberha! The Home of The Chilli Boys [sic],” they wrote alongside the photos.

Per reports, Martin has joined the Eastern Cape-based outfit on a two-year deal with the option to renew, although his salary has yet to be disclosed.

His signing comes just five months after he joined the Buccaneers from Cape Town City. During his brief spell, he struggled for game-time, having only featured in six games.

Now that he’s on the side of the Chilli Boys, Martin has an opportunity to prove himself on the pitch – coach Morgan Mammila concurred with this statement in a recent interview.

“His addition to our squad on this extended commitment is a clear indication of our aspirations for the new season,” Mammila commented.
